At the world Expo 2010 in Shanghai, 192 nations and 50 organizations participate, making it the largest of its kind in modern history. Visitor numbers are estimated at 70 to 100 million people. Jets has been selected by Norway at Expo 2010 and Innovation Norway as a partner and supplier to the Norwegian pavilion, and has supplied the sanitary system used there.
Resource saving solutions
The Norwegian pavilion is based on the theme "Norway. Powered By Nature", and is filled with the best Norway has to offer in terms of both nature and technology. The main theme of Expo 2010 is "Better City, Better Life", a theme that goes hand in hand with the resource saving solutions from Jets™.
- Needless to say, we are thrilled Norway at Expo 2010 and Innovation Norway chose Jets™, and feel that it contributes to strengthen and fortify our position as a manufacturer of environmentally friendly solutions. With the number of visitors expected, our vacuum systems will save millions of litres of water in the Norwegian pavilion alone during Expo 2010. This shows the enormous potential for saving water in other buildings all around the world, says Jets™ CEO Mr. Jan Tore Leikanger.
Jets™ and China
China, the nation that hosts Expo 2010, has traditionally been an important market for Jets™. This is particularly true in the shipbuilding industry where Jets™ has a market share of more than 50% for vacuum systems used in ships.
Onshore the story is different, and vacuum sanitary systems are no more widespread in China than in the rest of the world, despite the fact that vacuum cuts water use dramatically. One of the goals Jets™ has for its participation at Expo 2010 is therefore to increase people's knowledge of our systems and their benefits. With visitors from all around the world, we hope to succeed in doing so. Among other things, a Jets™ video highlighting key features of our sanitary solutions is shown on LCD screens near the toilets in the Norwegian pavilion:
